A ReStore is coming to Hillsborough!
The Habitat for Humanity ReStores are home improvement stores that sell new and used furniture, building materials, appliances and household goods at discounted prices. Proceeds support Habitat’s mission to build safe, affordable homes in our community. The ReStores also seek to be good stewards of the environment by diverting more than 5,000 tons of usable items from landfills annually.
Right now, we are looking for pick-up donations to help stock the store and volunteers to help us get it ready to open.
Donate your new and gently used furniture, appliances, building materials, cabinets, and more to the Habitat for Humanity ReStores! We sell these items to the public at discounted prices. When you donate to the ReStores, you're helping fund Habitat’s mission to build safe, affordable homes in the Triangle.
Please see the pick-up requirements below:
Our trucks are 26 feet. In order to maximize our resources, we ask the following:
- You must have at least two large, qualifying items.
- Items must be on the ground floor.
- Items must be located in Wake, Johnston, Durham or Orange counties.
You will receive a confirmation email once you have scheduled your pick up. If you do not receive this email, the pick-up has not been successfully scheduled. Not sure about an item? See our donation guidelines here.
Cashier: ring up sales, answer the phone, and work on small projects at the counter.
Sales Floor Associate: move furniture, organize product sections for better visibility, help load items, help make the store look great.
Customer Service Associate: greet customers and help find items, explain store policies, answer the phone.
Donation Receiver: unload and organize donations, prepare items for the sales floor (includes testing and doing minor repairs).
If you have related experience or if you’re willing to learn, you will make an excellent addition to the ReStore team! We are looking for individuals 18 years or older who would like to lend a hand, enjoy working with others and have the flexibility that they can volunteer between two and six hours at a time.
